Marriage & Family Therapist Trainee
Supervised by Melinda Haynes, LMFT-S Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #102308
Hi, I’m Charlee. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee providing relational and emotionally focused support, with clinical experience through practicum work in a family and children’s counseling setting. I also bring a background as a Licensed Midwife, with experience supporting individuals and families through major life transitions.
My approach is trauma-informed and relational, grounded in the belief that meaningful change often happens within safe, supportive relationships. I offer a warm space where clients can slow down, feel seen, and make sense of their experiences.
I help clients explore patterns in relationships, better understand themselves and their emotions, and navigate change, uncertainty, and growth. I offer curiosity, perspective, and support along the way.
I especially enjoy working with young adults and adults navigating major life transitions, identity development, relationships, self-worth, anxiety, grief, or difficult life experiences. I also work with adolescents, couples, and families, with a focus on pregnancy, fertility, birth, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood.
I frequently support clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, identity development, perfectionism, relationship and family challenges, and major life transitions—especially when these experiences carry both meaning and emotional complexity.
My style is warm, collaborative, reflective, and trauma-informed. I am curious and exploratory rather than prescriptive, and I value the therapeutic relationship as an important part of the work. Together, we slow things down, notice patterns, and build deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
I want clients to feel safe, respected, and free to be fully themselves. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to perform or have everything figured out—you can bring all parts of yourself, including the messy and complicated ones.
Sessions are conversational and collaborative, balancing reflection with practical support as needed. We explore emotions, relationships, past experiences, and current challenges at a pace that feels right for you.
My hope is that clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves—what they feel, need, and how they relate to others—so they can feel more grounded, connected, and confident navigating life’s transitions with self-compassion.
Outside of work, I enjoy strength training, being on the water, live music and film scores, poetry, photography, and time with my cats and loved ones. I’m drawn to creative outlets that help express what can be hard to put into words.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. This can be a space for curiosity, complexity, humor, and growth. All parts of you are welcome here, and I’d love to connect if this resonates with you.
