Hi, Iām Natalie. I provide a warm and compassionate environment where my clients can feel supported and safe. I work with adults and couples from all sorts of diverse backgrounds, and I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship dynamics, grief, and identity.
Before becoming licensed, I worked at plenty of mental health agencies, both private and nonprofit. I have training in ISTDP, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Gottman couples therapy. I am now a therapist in Vista, CA, where I run Perspectives for Thought Therapy.
My therapeutic style is warm and collaborative. I work primarily from a psychodynamic approach and can be very direct when necessary. I want clients to feel comfortable when working with me, as therapeutic alliance has been shown by clinical research to be the most important thing for client outcomes.
In sessions, I let my client begin however they wish. If they are not able to come up with something, I will have a topic that I want to review and will ask the client if they are open to talking about that topic.
My hope is that clients build self-confidence, emotional intelligence, practice identifying their emotions, and develop a greater ability to make decisions that match their values.
Outside of therapy, I have two cats and enjoy hiking, ice skating, and trying out new restaurants.
Looking for a therapist who understands the pressures of modern life? At Perspectives for Thought Therapy, I offer a collaborative, trauma-informed space designed to help you navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions with clarity. Together, we will explore your history and the maladaptive patterns that have held you back so that you can live a more authentic life that matches your values.
